Chupacabra Latin Cafe hosts weddings-DJ P-LO providing spicy beats!
Gary and Raquel decided on the great local hotspot Chupacabra to have their reception.
What a great spot for a wedding reception! Gary and Raquel really wanted a latin oriented place for their reception and they got just that. I had the privilege to partake in some appetizers ( with permission from the bride and groom đ ) as I was waiting for the Bride and Groom to make their grand entrance! At First, they initially thought the space was going to be a snug fit but it worked out perfectly. The General Manager Emily Abernathy made sure way in advance that everyone would be accommodated. She was really helpful. Here see for yourself. Not a bad place for a wedding reception in Asheville.
Wedding Party had some nice ideas for the decor
Here are some pictured I took of what they used for decor. It really gave it such a nice touch all around. So pretty! The last couple of pictures was just a sample of Chupacabra’s Menu.

A little bit about Chupacabra’s Latin Cafe…
Here at Chupacabra we are all about the food and all about family.
So, why Latin food? Short answer? Because you have to pick something. We love to cook it, we love to eat it, and itâs affordable.
Come in and let the food speak for itselfâŠ
Dave Snyder, Chef, entrepreneur, musician, and artist does everything from the house made sausage to the paintings on our walls.  Dave and Patrick dreamed up Chupacabra together-a chef driven menu without pretension and a peaceful, positive environment.  Daveâs passion for food is a direct inheritance from his mother and father, who are both chefs.  Next up for Dave is his Hominy Valley Distillery and we canât wait to get his âshine on in Chupacabra!
Patrick Abernathy, from Morganton, NC, is a graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art Culinary program and has worked in all kinds of restaurants with all kinds of cuisine, from Wolfgang Puck, Piatti, and Sushi Den in Denver to Savoy, 28806, Noiâs Thai Kitchen, and Red Stag Grill here in Asheville. With Chef Adam Hayes and the Red Stag team, Patrick competed and won the 2014 NC Competition Dining Series and cooked at the James Beard House in New York the same year.
Emily Abernathy, native of Ridgecrest, North Carolina, and UNC-Asheville and WCU Alumna, has been working in Ashevilleâs independent restaurant community since 2000. Formerly with Corner Kitchen Catering and Savoy, Emily is your front of the house maven-but donât be surprised if you see her pull on a pair of gloves and jump in the kitchen.  Patrick and Emily have two kids and hope youâll bring yours over to meet them.
Gary and Raquel’s  5 review on Wedding Wire
Patrick was professional and so sweet to us! At first it was a little difficult to get a contract going and I was surprised to find that I had to fill out most of the contract myself, but it eventually was worked out. Patrick is a very talented trumpet player and I thought it was so unique that he played it along with the music during dinner! He got all of our “event” songs right and he kept the crowd entertained while still following my reception timeline. He also provided microphones for speeches and even some up-lighting that I didn’t even know about!
